National Doubles Concludes
Carson/Huczek win their fifth National Doubles Championships

The 2009 USA Racquetball National Doubles Championships concluded this past week in Tempe, AZ. The event is racquetball's premier doubles tournament and was presented by Head/Penn and sponsored by Ektelon, Gearbox, Wilson and Pro Kennex. Over 55 divisions saw national doubles racquetball champions crowned with gold medals in divisions seperated by skill, age, and age+skill for men and women.
In the Men's US Team Qualifying division, Rocky Carson and Jack Huczek narrowly escaped defeat at the hands of Ben Croft and Mitch Williams in a dramatic finish. Carson and Huczek pulled the miracle comeback and forced a tie-breaker to claim their fifth ('04-'06, '08, '09) US National Doubles championship, 15-9, 7-15, 11-10.
The Women's US Team Qualifying division was also a thriller as Aimee Ruiz and Jackie Paraiso would defeat Rhonda Rajsich and Janel Tisinger in a re-match from last years final, 15-11, 15-13. This would be Ruiz's fifth US National Doubles title. ('05-'06 with Laura Fenton - '07-'09 with Paraiso)
The Men's and Women's US Team Qualifying division also determines one-year appointments to the U.S. National Team that will be competing in the 2009 PARC 22nd Pan Am Racquetball Championships.
