Michelle Sikorski

Congratulations to Michelle Sikorski, recipient of the John LoMonaco Memorial Grant.  Michelle’s winning entry and essay were chosen from those of 21 applicants who vied for the all-expenses paid trip to the USAR National Singles Championships in Houston, Texas, May 26-31, 2010.  An anonymous friend of John LoMonaco made this grant possible, donating the sum in memory of Mr. LoMonaco, who passed away May 5, 2009.

Michelle has lived in Colorado Springs her entire 25 years.  “I always enjoyed sports, even as a young girl. After playing baseball, lacrosse, soccer and other sports, I settled in with racquetball in 2004 and helped form the University team while in college. I’ve enjoyed playing and working up from a ‘C’ player to now competing with all my mentors. I graduated from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs with a degree in Business, and I’m putting that to good use in working as an Investment Specialist with T. Rowe Price. I also help the Colorado Racquetball Association in the collegiate program and am still active in coaching the University team. I plan on making racquetball part of my life for as long as possible.”

Thanks to the LoMonaco Grant, Michelle will be experiencing her first trip to “The Finals” just five weeks from now.  As part of receiving the grant, she will be reporting on her experience in a coming issue of Racquetball magazine.
