Sprague High School Wins Overall Team Championship
St. Louis University H.S. Wins Boy's Team Championship, Cor Jesu H.S. Wins Girls Team Championship
The 2009 US National High School Racquetball Championships concluded at the Vetta Sports Club-Concord in St. Louis MO as more than 40 high schools from across the country competed for coveted gold medals in singles and doubles divisions. The event was hosted at the Missouri Athletic Club, one of the premiere private clubs in the country with three glass glass championship courts that were used for the finals and awards ceremony. The facility and the staff were outstanding making this event one of the most successful national events hosted by a private club.
Also up for grabs were one year appoinments to the USA Racquetball Junior National Team as Taylor Knoth defeated Dylan Reid, 15-6, 15-7 in the Boy's Singles #1 Gold division. Devon Pimentelli defeated Amanda Lindsay, 15-9, 15-7 in the Girl's Singles #1 Gold division.
In doubles action, Taylor Knoth/Jeremy Mcglothin paired up to defeat brothers Dylan Reid/Sam Reid, 15-3, 15-7 in the Boy's Doubles #1 Gold division.
Courtney Chisholm/Kayla Pereira defeated Danielle Dewoskin/Rebecca Lin, 15-3, 15-9 in the Girl's Doubles #1 Gold division.
Winners of the boy's and girl's singles and doubles #1 Gold divisions will be named to the US Junior National Team that competes and represents Team USA at all international competition.
The final Team, as well the Boy's and Girl's Team Championship points were tallied and the final finishers posted.
